Dear Ghost Enthusiast,

On a dark December night in 1972, Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 tragically crashed into the Florida Everglades, claiming the lives of 101 passengers and crew. But, for some, the journey didn't end there. Welcome aboard the ghostly tale of Flight 401.

In the months following the disaster, employees of Eastern Air Lines began to report chilling encounters. The apparitions of Captain Bob Loft and Flight Engineer Don Repo, both of whom perished in the crash, were seen on several of the airline's Lockheed L-1011 planes.

Crew members and passengers alike spotted these spectral figures, often recognizing them from their photographs. The apparitions were known to perform routine flight duties, interact with the crew, and even offer safety advice. More chillingly, Repo's ghost was known to deliver a grim message: "There will never be another crash. We will not let it happen."

These phantom appearances were most common on planes that contained salvaged parts from the ill-fated Flight 401. Was it the remnants of the crashed aircraft that tethered the spirits of Loft and Repo to the world of the living, making them spectral guardians of the sky?

As the eerie encounters multiplied, they captured the imagination of the public and the media, inspiring books and a TV movie. While the sightings have since subsided, the Ghost of Flight 401 remains one of aviation's most spine-tingling tales.
